In the blink of an eye, the holiday season has arrived, and it’s time to start making plans for 2025. Perhaps this will finally be the year you say no to all the chores at home and instead start planning an escape to our coastal hometown of Ocean City, Maryland. Offering the serenity of the sea and the comfort of our accommodations, this year could be the start of a new holiday tradition for you and your family over Thanksgiving in Ocean City!
Feeling Peaceful
Christmas is coming, and that thought may make you feel a tad stressed, but the cure for that stress is as simple as a walk on the beach. As a matter of fact, it IS a walk on the beach, perhaps conducted hand in hand with your partner, or as the season swings into full gear, perhaps a quiet walk on the beaches of Ocean City will be one best conducted alone. It will be chilly on our sandy shores with temperatures dropping into the 50s, but don’t let that stop you from burying your toes in the sand. Thanksgiving is the off-season in our town and the beaches will be quiet, aside from the roar of the surf. As salt air breezes kiss your cheeks, the cold sand tickles your toes, and the sun sets on the horizon, these quiet and peaceful moments are the ones that will hold you through the tough and crazy times that lie ahead.

Stay Traditional
Just because you have run away from home and extended family for the holiday this year, it doesn’t mean you have to give up all your Thanksgiving traditions, and if cooking is your love language, you will love our kitchens. Modern, spacious and offering plenty of counterspace to hold all your favorite family dishes, your traditional Thanksgiving dinner will be just as delicious as it is at home; the surroundings will be more peaceful, though! Start out your day with a cup of fresh brewed coffee as you stand out on your balcony overlooking the sea and then head back inside, turn on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade (Our televisions will offer pictures so clear, you will feel as if you are in Times Square watching the processional live!) and start gathering the ingredients for your favorite dishes. There will be Santa Claus (at the parade), football (Is your favorite team playing?), and perhaps you will end the night watching the first of many Christmas shows that begin to make their appearance. Traditions become a tradition for a reason, and your family ones are worth celebrating!

Spoil Yourself
How many Thanksgivings have you spent chained to the stove while everyone else is watching TV, chatting, playing games, etc.? This could be the year when you let someone else do the cooking, the serving, and the clearing away, enjoying a Thanksgiving meal in one of the many restaurants that will be open.
One of our favorite traditions is a Thanksgiving dinner at the Bonfire, a local landmark that has been feeding hungry people for over 50 years. Located at 7009 Coastal Highway, their seafood buffet is a favorite that will be available on the holiday, but if you are a traditionalist, you may want to enjoy their turkey dinner.
Another popular restaurant that is open on Thanksgiving, Fager’s Island, also offers bay views that will aid in your digestion. Located at 201 60th Street, their turkey day menu includes the choice of turkey or ham and all the fixings, ensuring you will be able to enjoy the meals you love, without all the hard work!
Thankful Again
The magic of Thanksgiving is often lost on the hardest working people in our families, the moms who do so much for so many and often feel as if they are failing at pleasing everyone. The mom in your life will feel thankful again as she gets the chance to relax and maybe even be celebrated, as you have to know that no matter how good the food is at any restaurant you take her to, it will never be as good as the meals she makes, all created with love as the most important ingredient. But as she marks down all the things she has to be grateful for, don’t worry; you are sure to be at the top of the list. You can be thankful that this year you gave her what she needed most, the chance to relax.
